Prattville Chamber to Host Groundbreaking This Week for the ACTC Expansion

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a groundbreaking in celebration of the expansion project for the Autauga County Technology Center on March 3 at 3:15 P.M. The ACTC is located at 1301 Upper Kingston Road in Prattville. ACTC staff and local officials will be in attendance.

This expansion project will create four new shops to be used for the ACTC’s fire science, engineering, welding and automotive programs.

The ACTC provides a diverse curriculum designed to prepare students for entry into the workforce or for further study in the postsecondary setting. This institution offers courses that link school-based learning with career-related experiences.

Currently, 13 Career Tech Programs are offered including AgriConstruction, Automotive, Business Management, Cosmetology, Education and Training, Electrical, Engineering, Family and Consumer Sciences, Finance, Fire Science, Health Science, Information Technology, and Welding.

The ACTC and Prattville Chamber are also partnering on March 3 for Career Day and a community open house. Career Day and the open house will feature a variety of exhibitors, made up of local industries and businesses. These organizations will highlight company information and share relevant skill sets for their career paths.
