Prattville Chamber Celebrates 45th Anniversary!Prattville, AL— Nearly 400 people attended the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce’s 45th Meeting Celebration at the Marriott Legends in Prattville to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of the last year, applaud this year’s award winners, and kick off the Chamber’s 46th year of service. Attendees included members, volunteers, business leaders, elected officials and some of the Chamber’s major partners.
Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Bob Gipson, Co-Owner of Gipson Tire Pro’s, kicked off the program by highlighting some of the accomplishments achieved by the Prattville Chamber during his term. He also recognized out going Board members and thanked them for their service. During this evening of celebration, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce presented awards to the Industry of the Year, Small Business of the Year by category, and the Ambassador of the Year.
The Chamber’s 2018 Industry of the Year Award was presented to International Paper, Prattville Mill for their commitment to investment and growth in the local community. Opened in 1967, International Containerboard Mill is one of 17 mills in IP’s Industrial Packaging division. IP’s Prattville Mill is the largest manufacturing employer in the City of Prattville and Autauga County. Over the past few years, IP has invested more than $300 million in facility and equipment upgrades, demonstrating its continued commitment to the growth and success of the company, its team members and the surrounding community. Last year, IP’s Prattville Mill celebrated its 50th anniversary with a community celebration, proving the company’s longevity and its impact on the Prattville Autauga County and the River Region.
The Chamber’s 2018 Small Business of the Year awards were presented in four categories, for outstanding business success, chamber involvement and community service. The 2018 Small Business of the Year, 1-10 employee category was presented to the Stock Insurance Agency. The Strock Insurance Agency, an independent Prattville agency, represents over two-dozen companies which equips them with the ability to offer the best policies with the most effective coverages to fulfill customized needs of its customers. With over 30 years in the industry, Danny Strock and his growing team of 5 are dedicated and committed to customer service, and this local commitment has empowered them to grow their business portfolio.
LEK Technology Group, LLC, a service technology company headquartered in Prattville, received the 2018 Small Business of the Year award, 11-50 employees. With over 35 trained and certified technicians in Low Voltage applications, fiber optic cable, fusion splicing, aerial/underground cable installations, wireless networks, audio/visual systems and more. LEK’s focus on customer service and trained personnel continues to propel LEK Technology Group, LLC, which now has offices throughout the South and allowed them to celebrate 10 years in business last August.
The 2018 Small Business of the Year, 50-100 employees, was received by Prattville based River Bank & Trust. Incorporated in 2006, River Bank and Trust has established itself as a full-service commercial bank by a group of local leaders who shared the common vision of a “community focused” bank with localized decision making. With locations across the River Region, River Bank & Trust in Prattville has established itself among the community through its customer service, business operations and charitable work with local organizations, and is currently one of the largest community banks chartered in Alabama with assets exceeding $850 million and 11 total locations throughout Alabama.
MRaine Industries, LLC received the 2018 Small Business of the Year in the Emerging Business category. An Emerging Business is one that has been in operation for fewer than five years. MRaine has made a remarkable investment, over the last two years, turning a dream into realty with the manufacturing and distribution of Eleven86 artesian water out of Autaugaville. In partnership with Adams Beverage, Bama Bud Shelby, Bama Bud Montgomery and Horn Beverages, Eleven86 water is currently sold in 103 locations in approximately 12 counties across the state with continued growth in sales and distribution locations. MRaine Industries, LLC's investment and commitment to its local community complement its dedication to providing a quality product under the direction of CEO Marquis Forge.
The Ambassador of the Year award was presented to Kyle Stewart, Commercial Insurance Account Manager, Strock Insurance Agency for his outstanding performance and dedicated service to the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce. Stewart has shown his dedication to the Ambassador program through his attendance at Chamber and community events, outreach to our current members and introducing others in our community to the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bob Gipson passed the gavel to Wade Seamon, Market President Trustmark National Bank, who will begin his term as Chairman of the Pratttville Chamber's Board of Directors on October 1, 2018. Seamon will lead the Chamber's mission to provide a sustainable business community, build a healty economy, and foster growth and positive chamber while improving the community's vitality and quality of life. To continue the Prattville Chamber's success, Seamon will continue to strengthen partnerships and collaborative efforts with the City of Prattville, Autauga County and others, ensuring that the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce remains business driven, community minded and volunteer based in 2019!
