Small Business of the Year- 51-100 Employees
LONGHORNS STEAKHOUSE PRATTVILLE

Join us in congratulating LongHorn Steakhouse-Prattville as the 2020 Small Business of the Year with 51-100 Employees. For the last 16 years, Joel Wheaton, managing partner, has lived his mission to be Prattville’s Favorite Steakhouse; by getting better every day, shift by shift, and earning the loyalty of one guest at a time, while all along advocating for community involvement. Joel leads a team of 80 employees who all take great pride in serving boldly seasoned and expertly grilled fish, never frozen, steaks, chicken and fish, while cultivating a stellar guest experience for each guest. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joel’s team has shown incredible grit and flexibility to change the restaurant to a “TO GO” only restaurant overnight! Shortages of fresh meat and produce, along with limited availability of “to-go” containers and bags, resulted in many challenges for the LongHorn Steakhouse Prattville team who worked tirelessly to maintain their excellent standards while achieving their goals to win guests “one meal at a time”. Joel was distraught when he had to cut his staff to a skeleton crew at the beginning of the pandemic; however, the demand from the Prattville community for the consistency of the LongHorn Steakhouse meal experience required Joel to double his skeleton crew overnight. And, little by little he is bringing his staff back on to meet the increasing demand.  It’s no wonder that last year, LongHorn Steakhouse presented Joel Wheaton with Longshorn’s The Best of the West award. He was only one of only four managing partners selected out of the more than 501 LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants nationwide, to receive the award.
